  • Where you can climb in the UK and Ireland and choosing where to climb
  • How to use guidebooks and mobile devices to find crags and routes
  • Crag etiquette, ethics, access and environmental considerations, and the organisations that support us as climbers
  • How to identify hazards and manage the risks of the crags
  • Common rock climbing injuries, how to get help and the role of Mountain Rescue and associated emergency services.

Rock Skills Introduction with RAW Adventures

RAW Adventures is proud to be an accredited Mountain Training provider and passionate about supporting people to climb outdoors safely and confidently. We understand that rock climbing for the first time can be daunting - whether you’re an absolute beginner or have only climbed indoors - so we keep our training groups small (1 trainer to every 6 participants), enabling us to provide a safe, sociable experience that’s tailored precisely to the needs of each group. Our Rock Skills Introduction leaders allow plenty of time to immerse yourself in the beautiful places you’ll be learning in, and to share their in-depth local knowledge.

By the end of the course you can expect to be in a strong position to take a climbing wall belay test and be ready to attend a Rock Skills Intermediate course.

We had an awesome day climbing with Jonathan and Leon - two very knackered but happy teenagers (and adults!) after today - thanks both.

Rebecca

This is my second course with RAW and on both occasions they've made it a very enjoyable and knowledgeable experience, they will be at the top of my list when I look at booking the next stages in my training, can't recommend them enough.
