Kilimanjaro, standing tall at 5,895 metres, is often referred to as 'The Roof of Africa' or Uhuru Peak, depending on your preference. It holds a distinguished place among the renowned 7 Summits, dominating the African horizon. Conquering its coveted summit requires meticulous planning and preparation.
Our preferred route, the Lemosho, approaches from the western side, guiding adventurers through arid lowlands before ascending to the enchanting Shira Plateau moorlands. Here, you'll encounter the unique Kilimanjaro Giant Groundsels, colossal mutant weeds that dot the landscape. Continuing from Shira, we pass the imposing lava tower and, with the dedicated assistance of our team, conquer the exhilarating Barranco Wall. Then, under the soft glow of moonlight, we don head torches and make our way towards the summit.
At the top, you'll have ample time to reflect on your remarkable achievement before descending through lush tropical rainforests teeming with monkeys and butterflies. Climbing 'Kili' is a magical experience for all, from witnessing breathtaking sunsets over the vast African plains to the surreal, ever-changing landscapes, the spirited dancing and singing with our cherished support team, and ultimately, the immense pride of conquering Africa's highest peak.
This fully supported expedition is attainable for individuals with a good baseline of fitness and rightfully ranks high on the bucket list of those with an adventurous spirit. Our 7-day trek ensures you acclimatise adequately for the summit attempt and savour every moment on the mountain.
