Snowdonia (Eryri) Scrambling Weekend

Join us on a weekend of world-class scrambling in the stunning surroundings of Eryri (Snowdonia). Over two days, RAW’s qualified instructors will guide you across cool gullies, rugged rock faces and incredible airy ridges, exploring one of the UK’s top scrambling locations with a small group of fellow scrambling enthusiasts.

The weekend is suitable for beginners but, because we keep our groups small, we’re able to adjust for a range of experience levels. In short, everyone’s welcome!

What you'll learn

Essential scrambling techniques for navigating rocky terrain, including hand and foot placements and route finding
Safety procedures and risk assessment to ensure a secure and enjoyable scrambling experience
Problem-solving and decision-making skills to tackle challenging obstacles and route options
Teamwork and communication strategies for effective group scrambling and mutual support
Environmental awareness and responsible scrambling practices to minimise impact on the natural surroundings
Route finding skills to plan and navigate optimal scrambling routes through varied terrain
Interpreting mountain weather conditions to make informed decisions and ensure safety during the adventure
Understanding and selecting the appropriate kit and equipment for scrambling, including clothing, footwear, and gear essentials

Over the course of the weekend our instructors will work with and support you to become self sufficient scramblers by the end of day two.

Where you'll stay

Your guided scrambling weekend includes 3 nights self-catering accommodation at one of our very favourite adventure bases - Lon Dryll Outdoors - in the heart of Snowdonia. You’ll stay in comfortable, dorm-style rooms (private rooms may be available on request), with time to relax and rest in the games room or around the firepit in the evening.

We welcome solo adventurers so if, like many of our participants, you decide to come on your own, we promise you a fun and sociable experience! Lon Dryll will be exclusively ours for the duration of the scrambling weekend.
