Meanwhile in Wales… Dydd Santes Dwynwen hapus i chi ! // Happy St Dwynwen’s day to you!

Today we celebrate the Welsh ‘Valentine’s day’. Ynys Llanddwyn is a tidal island off the coast of Anglesey, ruggedly beautiful with views reaching across #Snowdonia and beyond.
Old volcanic rock makes up parts of this island, which is wreathed in stories just as ancient. This place is home to the romantic legend of St Dwynwen – the Welsh patron Saint of lovers, who in the 5th Century retreated here to live in solitude after her lover drank from a potion and turned to ice!
The remains of her Church and the well she drank from can still be seen today.
Definitely one for the visiting list…
