About Ross
If there’s a boulder to climb or river to swim, there’s Ross – a self-confessed childhood explorer. With time spent camping and trekking in the UK and French Alps – he has developed a unique talent for pitching tents on any terrain. Ross has a strong background in youth leading, following his involvement in The Air Training Corps and Duke of Edinburgh Award. He continued as an ATC Adventure Training Instructor with D of E Expedition groups.
Holding the Summer Mountain Leader and Single Pitch Climbing Awards, Ross seeks opportunities to work in an environment he loves. He is comfortable with all ability levels and group sizes and enjoys teaching new skills to others. With expedition experience from Peru to Borneo and Tanzania to Alaska, Ross prioritises organisation and safety – with some bad jokes thrown in for good measure! As well as working with groups at the Beacon Climbing Centre, North Wales and acting as the North Wales regional representative for the Mountain Leader Training Association, his latest project is picking up pace in the guise of the first Soap Box Race in the Llanberis Pass! Now he just needs to develop an 8 day week to accommodate it all…
A memorable moment: watching Golden Eagles in the Talkeetna Range, Alaska
Doesn’t leave home without: gaffa tape and his camera
Aim for 2012: more climbing...
