Jennie Crean, Ben Crean Trust (May 2014)

Climb Snowdon on May 11th 2014 was the biggest challenge any of the group walking for The Ben Crean Trust had ever undertaken. Torrential rain and driving winds made the task ahead seem impossible. We hadn’t reckoned on the professionalism, organisational skills and motivational leaders from RAW who made it possible.

At the end of the gruelling day everyone was safe, well and congratulating themselves on a lifetimes achievement and even ventured outside again for a photo (mercifully, the rain had stopped).

Many thanks, you guys, you are inspirational!

Lindsey Teear (Sept 2013)

“We all had the most amazing time on Saturday! The weather was awful but it didn’t dampen our spirits! Marianne was fab, such a lovely person and we would all like to say a big big thank you to her! She was invaluable and I don’t think we would of got to the summit without her in such terrible conditions! She made us all feel safe all the way up! Thank you all so much for your help and guidance over the last few months!”

Richard Lester, GNSA (July 2013)

“The students had a great day and really enjoyed the challenge of the climb. Craig and Anthony had a wonderful manner with the students and a lot was learned in terms of navigation and the environment they were in. Please pass on my thanks again to the two of them. A huge thank you also for your support, attention and excellent level of communication. It was a joy to work with you.”

Debra Harris, DofE Leader & Teacher (June 2013)

“I was recommended to RAW Adventures because I was looking for a woman trainer who could help me update my navigation skills as a DofE leader. I found the whole process stress free and had a great day out walking, which gave me the confidence again confirming I had the knowledge in the first place, all I had done was not to keep my skills up-to-date.

My trainer (Kate) has since kept in touch with me and regularly emails me to support me in completing my ML training. I would recommend their services to other leaders and schools.”

R. Patel (May 2013)

“With a tremendous amount of local knowledge Ross was able to switch-up the walk making it extremely challenging, which ensured I got most out of it. Ross was able to suggest good view points, local stories and provided welcomed suggestions on how to adapt to changing weather as we walked on Snowdon. Strongly recommended and will approach RAW for all future outdoor activities.”

Mary Walker (May 2013)

“When telling people about the lovely mountain and the perfect conditions, in the next breath I said how fortunate we were to have such a great guide, Kate: such a good decision to book you! Thanks again for taking us on your mountain.”

Amelia Whiteman (Feb 2013)

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising such a brilliant and memorable day for us on Friday. Climbing Snowdon together was very special...especially as it was challenging in the snow and ice, which made reaching the summit even more of an achievement!

It was great to experience crampons and ice axes for our first times. Paul was fantastic, everything was fabulous! Jim and Eryl were lovely at the Plas Coch Guest House, the ale and food was delicious across at The Heights. All in all, it was an incredible couple of days. Thank you for your advice and organising it all.”

Nathan Thomas (Oct 2012)

“Just thought I’d drop you a line to say a big thank you for all your help in setting up the climb last weekend. Steve was great and the route we took offered pretty much exactly what we wanted, something not out of our ability range but that challenged us. We all had a really great day and are keen to go back. So once again, a big thank you!”

Robert Fielding (Sept 2009 and May 2012)

“A big thank you to RAW Adventures, with whom I have now taken part in two Mountain challenges. The first was as part of a team of ten that Ross and Kate led over a day long 10 Peak Challenge in the Lakes, and the second on a three day Welsh 3000s mountain challenge in 2012. Both events were truly memorable and on each occasion I was made to feel extremely confident of my and the team’s safety, whatever the terrain being tackled, as well as enjoying the thrills that a mountain challenge can bring.

Kate and Ross clearly love what they do and on both occasions their enthusiasm and sense of humour made even the difficult bits of the challenge really enjoyable. Thank you for two memorable events, and I would have no hesitation in recommending RAW Adventures to any individual or group seeking a thrilling but ultimately safe mountain adventure in the future.”
